Baby ready for solids

Many parents ask, when should I feed my baby solids? What food should i feed him?

Most pediatricians recommend starting baby food around 6 months of age. I although started to feed my boy real solids at 5 months of age.

Sanford ready for lunch!

Once my son was showing signs of readiness for “real food” I did purchase different jars of baby food to see what he may or may not like before making up big batches to freeze.

First, the signs of readiness:

  • Holds head up without support
  • Sits well with support
  • Watches others eat and shows interest
  • Loss of the tongue-thurst reflux
  • Ability to let you know when full
  • Willing to chew

There are other signs as well, but the above are most common.

So now.. what to feed your little one?
