Ah yay! We are pregnant. Oh shit.. we are pregnant!
Thoughts to go through my head, followed by this is real. This is happening.
**if you suspect you are pregnant, take a pregnancy test.
First thing is first.. tell my parents. All of my life I had this theory in my head, made up by me. My parents would be disappointed if I was not married before having children. Boy was I wrong!
Nervous and excited for the reaction I gave them a call the night before April fools day. Mom thought I was playing an early April fools joke on her as 5 years previously I was told becoming pregnant would be difficult without medication to assist. After telling her it is for real, the excitement in her voice gave me joy to know she was so happy to be an Oma.

Next up was my dad. Old fashioned dad. First he asked if everything was okay.. my mom was crying! After spilling the news, a congrats was given. Phew! That went easier then expected. Now to the father’s parents. Wow, super easy.
What to expect when you’re expecting.. nothing was told to me besides morning sickness. Swollen feet, heartburn, acid reflux, backaches and sciatica! Not to mention the emotional roller coaster.
All totally worth it.
You think doctor’s would talk with you well in advance about what to expect for birth. Nope! 10 to 1 in the morning a big ouch plus peed the bed.
Nope.. that’s not pee. That’s the water breaking. But wait.. no contractions? Ah get some rest.. no need to go to the hospital yet I thought as I didn’t have any contractions. Eventually we went and soon after arrival, we had a wonderful beautiful purplish boy.
