My son absolutely loves to chew on books which is why I got similar to these books for him. This way I didn’t have to worry about anything. He also loves the crinkle sound some make.
I try to point to pictures in the book and say what it is as well as read the story to him.

The main thing in teaching your child to read is to teach them to “sound it out”. As a baby, you’re going to want to basically show the baby images and say what the item is while pointing what the image is.
This has helped my son learn words and letters which in a few years will help him develop reading skills.
