I am currently obsessed with the “Conversate” app running on my Even Realities G2 smart glasses. While the glasses themselves are undeniably futuristic—projecting a subtle, monochrome heads-up display while maintaining the appearance of standard eyewear—Conversate is the real standout feature. This AI-powered productivity tool is built for professional meetings, but it is equally entertaining in social settings, and you can even use it to trick bartenders into giving you free drinks.

Use Conversate and never take notes in a meeting again

If you have ever walked out of a work meeting wondering whether you were supposed to handle the TPS reports or if it was Gary’s turn, you should look into Conversate. I struggle with multitasking, so trying to listen while simultaneously taking notes is a challenge. Conversate effectively removes that hurdle.

Here is how it functions: You activate the app, and the AI listens to and transcribes every word spoken in real time. The text remains just outside your primary field of vision unless you glance up, so it is never distracting. However, if someone poses a factual question, you receive a silent answer in a pop-up window within your lenses. Sharing this information can make you appear quite brilliant—or perhaps like a know-it-all, so use it with caution. If a person’s name or a company is mentioned, you get a pop-up providing context. While this is often unnecessary—I am already aware of what Google is and who Jesus Christ is—it occasionally provides helpful background information.

Once the meeting concludes, you can review a summary of the discussion, and Conversate will highlight any potential tasks for you. You can then transfer those items to your glasses’ to-do list with a single click, ensuring you have a manageable list of action items floating in your view whenever you need it.

I realize that many of these functions could be performed by various smartphone apps, but Conversate allows you to keep your phone in your pocket, making the entire process much more discreet.

How to use Conversate to win bar bets and fake being smart

I used the previous generation of Even Realities smart glasses to win a drink from a bartender, and Conversate makes this kind of trickery even simpler. Because it is constantly listening for questions and feeding you answers, you can easily dominate trivia night, impress your peers with rapid-fire calculations, or tell people the day of the week they were born, provided you are willing to be a bit dishonest. An added bonus: the G2s do not look like smart glasses, and if you pair them with the ring controller, no one will ever suspect you are cheating your way through life.

How to have fun at parties with Conversate

This final use case depends on your social circle, but with the right group, Conversate becomes a hilarious party game. It is amusing to read the AI’s stiff definitions for common terms back to people a few seconds after they are spoken. It is also fun when friends start mentioning obscure names just to see if your spectacles can identify them. It is even entertaining when people invent “action items” that you supposedly need to complete later. Everyone at the party will call you a nerd, but they will still want to try on your glasses. Are they secretly jealous of your cutting-edge tech? Probably not, to be honest. Regardless, when you are finished socializing, Conversate will translate the party’s banter and small talk into “corporate-speak” summaries, which I find delightful.
